ABOUT US
CIS was originally founded in 2001 by Jamye Gaster and Paula McKinley. As former synchronized skaters and now individual coaches at the Orange County Sportsplex, Jamye and Paula wanted to provide their students with a team figure skating experience. Jamye and Paula knew that not only does synchro improve the technical skating abilities of individual athletes, it also provides several benefits to grow young athletes into well-rounded adults. Synchro provides skaters with a sense of belonging, team unity and lifelong friendships. Synchro also teaches skaters self-confidence, empathy, resilience, perseverance, improvisation and good sportsmanship. Importantly, CIS values the individuality of each skater and encourages all skaters to be their authentic selves. Since it began, CIS has developed more than 1000 successful skaters.
